On 10 September 2025, the State Environmental Fund (“SEF“) published the Call No. 1/2025 in the ELEGRID sub-programme making it possible to submit applications for subsidies.
The purpose of the ELEGRID sub-programme is the modernization and strengthening of the electricity grid leading to increased connection capacity for renewable energy sources. This may include the construction of new or extension of existing lines of all voltage levels, the renovation of existing and installation of new substations or the installation of new transformers.
Eligible applicants under Call No. 1/2025 include:
The total budget of the ELEGRID sub-programme according to the Programme Document of the Modernization Fund is up to 20 billion CZK, while 10 billion CZK have been allocated specifically to Call No. 1/2025. Therefore, it can be expected that Call No. 1/2025 is not the last call under the ELEGRID sub-programme.
The specific amount of the subsidy depends on the value of the increase in the connection capacity of the electricity system in MW (the subsidy is therefore quoted in CZK/MW) and varies according to the voltage level, where the highest subsidy is provided for the increase in the connection capacity in the LV voltage level and the lowest subsidy in the EHV voltage level.[2]
Subsidy applications can be submitted from 29 September 2025 to 29 January 2027.
If you are considering submitting an application or would like additional information on the ELEGRID sub-programme or other subsidy programmes of the Modernization Fund, please do not hesitate to contact us.
