Welcome to the bpv Renewable Energies Practice

Introduction:

Advising and supporting our clients in the renewable energy sector has a solid and long lasting tradition in our firm with special emphasis on Central and Eastern European countries. The greater part of our legal experience relates to the solar energy sector but we advise also in the wind and biomass sectors.

Our clients are private local as well as international investors, developers, construction companies, producers from renewable energy technologies as well as banks and other financial institutes financing both the development and the purchase of projects.

We advise our clients on:

  • Buying “ready to build” projects
  • EPC and O&M Contracts
  • Relevant contracts to achieve grid connection
  • Post-closing restructuring project companies
  • Equity financing
  • Bank financing including both short and long term financing and refinancing together with the securitization
  • Loan agreements and all relevant security agreements
  • Selling and buying project companies which have grid connection

We have developed a large network of contacts in all relevant renewable energy sectors. In turn, our clients benefit from networking these contacts as and when the need arises.

We are also experienced in the legal coordination of projects representing developers and the investors buying ready to build projects, which often happens in more than one country at the same time. In that respect we provide legal “in-house” teams who coordinate the legal work in the respective country, using our legal network and our large database on project contracts in all aspects of the relevant energy sector.

We are at the forefront of renewable energy developments across Europe such as solar, wind and water, and have been advising increasingly on such projects. Our comprehensive legal knowledge and wide-ranging experience give clients the edge they need to succeed in today’s challenging business and financial environments.

You will find on this website:

Brief information about the relevant support schemes for electricity in the respective renewable energy sectors divided by countries in Central and Eastern Europe. We also announce relevant deals and acquisitions in which we have advised our clients.
